Anchor / Reporter (Television) – Colorado Springs CO - NewsChannel 13 is looking for an excellent journalist who is strong on the desk and in the field. Must excel at breaking news situations and be able to deliver it in a conversational manner. Candidates should have a strong command of the English language and be an excellent writer. Job Description: The duties of this position include but are not limited to: Assist in writing scripts for newscasts; write and produce short newscasts that are fast-paced and engaging in content; public appearances to represent the station; develop contacts and turn in stories daily utilizing those contacts; recognize and correctly pronounce names frequently in the news; act as a newsroom leader setting a standard of excellence by example; write and post video on KRDO.com. Must have a degree in Journalism, mass media, communications or related field and a minimum of two years of experience anchoring and reporting regularly scheduled newscasts in a commercial broadcast television station. Also must possess strong communication and writing skills; have a good voice, authoritative delivery, and good news judgment. Bi-lingual candidates, English/Spanish, will be given preference.
